Bananza is also an extension of Nintendo’s universe, including the Super Mario Movie, which has a Donkey Kong that looks like this one, and Super Nintendo World, which has a Donkey Kong land, too. And yes, Super Nintendo World’s Donkey Kong Power-Up bands even work like Amiibo with this game. I’m happy to say that Donkey Kong Bananza is here to whisk you off to multilevel worlds of satisfyingly smashing madness, to cheer you up and give you an excuse to punch the heck out of things. It’s a game my 12-year-old son has loved playing along with me, although I’ve had to find ways to wrestle the game back to play for myself. While there’s a lot to love about Sifu developer Sloclap’s new multiplayer soccer game Rematch, it scores a few own goals.
As you descend to new levels, the characters you meet and the level’s game mechanics shift up a bit. The levels aren’t as drastically different or quite as weirdly whimsical as the ones in Odyssey, but they feel a lot busier. Our search for the best game review sites of 2024 has paid off. Another good incentive to stay together is the freakish skeletal creature that’ll emerge from the fog and hunt you down if you decide to run ahead of your group. It’s an absolutely awful experience—you don’t just suffer psychological damage, but real damage too when the monster throws you off the side of the mountain. At toto21 when we were trekking through the tropical jungle, I managed to jump on a toxic bush which exploded into a cloud of poison and launched my climbing buddy off the side of the cliff, into the abyss of the fog. It’ll ebb and flow, meaning you have to time your leaps and scrambles to avoid fire damage. Working together with up to three other players, the goal that sits before you may seem like a daunting one. After crash landing on a deserted island, your only way out is to scale the behemoth of a mountain that sits before you.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream Review: Impressive Indie Gem With Great Visuals And Engaging Challenges
The identity of the first game is felt in the sequel and although the game is not free from flaws, it can be a great feast, especially if someone feels “quite hungry.” Split Fiction is the newest game from the co-op masterminds at Hazelight Studios, a two-player adventure through the many stories of two authors trapped in worlds of their own creation. South of Midnight delights with its looks and soundtrack, which is much better than anyone could expect. It’s a shame, though, that aesthetic experience isn’t followed by equally great gameplay.
The final game, which I won’t spoil here, is genuinely difficult to watch – not because it’s particularly gory, but the sheer callousness and cruelty on display from the finalists is horrifying. It’s a dialogue-heavy game with little action (at first, anyway), and it’s an inspired choice for how it engages with the season’s themes on the nature of humanity. Season 3 won’t make every one of those ardent fans happy. To slightly misquote Shrek, Bananza is like an onion – its levels are called layers, and each one is a sprawling playground constructed to maximize the potential of DK’s destructive abilities.
Game Over, Man!
“Squid Game” Season 3 isn’t as haunting and spectacular as the first two seasons, mainly because of the repetitive structure of the games and the lack of new characters. Still, there are certainly some compelling twists that make the last six episodes of this intense saga worthwhile. Though some Season 2 fan-favorites die in the most crushing ways, it’s the arrival of Kim Jun-he’s (Jo Yu-ri) newborn baby at the end of Episode 2, “The Starry Night,” that shifts the course of the final games and raises the stakes to a level that hasn’t been seen previously.
However, MachineGames’ game falls a little below expectations. It sits on the border of an action game and an adventure game. Sunderfolk, the latest game from Dreamhaven and Secret Door, is a tabletop RPG where your phone is the controller and your screen is the TV. It’s one of the most fun multiplayer experiences I’ve had in years. Sandfall Interactive’s debut game is a masterclass in presentation, storytelling, and gameplay. To a T dares to answer that question in one of the most absurd yet profound gaming experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Metroidvanias are hot right now, and I can practically see the brainstorming meeting that began with a producer writing “Hollow Knight? Biomes are dense and filled with the kind of non-linear pathways that you can get lost in for hours. Freeform exploration is placed front and center, which often left me completely unsure of what I needed to do next once I was tired of hunting down health upgrades, tradable stones, and the yellow dots used to upgrade my skills. It can be frustrating, but Shadow Labyrinth asks us to enjoy it like a hedge maze.
